Biography
Soviet composer. He studied music at Saratov. College on classes A.F. Preis in PK (1921-23) and composition with L. Rudolph (1924-26). In 1931 he graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory in composition V.V.Shcherbachev. In 1932 he systematically worked in the studio "Lenfilm". Songwriter, gained popularity in parts of the Leningrad and Volkhov fronts during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-45 ("Farewell", "Hawk," "Drinking Song", "Guards," "Fortified town", etc.). Main place of work belongs to vocal lyrics to the verses of Pushkin, Lermontov, Tyutchev, H. Heine, Soviet poets. Edited by the score of Tchaikovsky's opera "Voivod" for performances in Leningrad in Maly Theatre (1949) and 6-Etudes vocalize Glinka to vote with atrial fibrillation. (1950-51). From 1947 he taught at the Leningrad Conservatory (since 1950 Associate Professor).
